What "vetted" should mean, and usually does not
Most platforms use the word. Very few will tell you what they actually checked.
The Xoot team
A word is not a checklist
Vetted should describe specific checks and their current status. It should not ask you to infer a guarantee from a badge. Ask what was checked, who reviewed it, when it was checked and what happens if something changes.
Xoot's Trust section distinguishes code that is built from mechanisms proven end to end. The screening pipeline and queues are built, but no Xooter has yet completed that pipeline. The requirements below describe the standard to be met, not a completed screening record.
Identity, work eligibility and address
The required identity evidence is a South African ID, or a passport with a valid work permit. Proof of residence must be current. Identity and address evidence establish who a person is and how they can be reached; they do not establish how every future visit will go.
Documents need review and re-checking. Collecting a file once and leaving it unread is not the same as verification.
Screening, payment identity and training
The intended checks include a criminal record check, bank details in the person's own name and completion of required training. A criminal record check has limits: it cannot reveal conduct that was never reported or recorded.
Bank-name matching protects control over earnings as well as the platform. Training is a gate on accepting work, rather than a decorative certificate. These requirements must be completed and reviewed before activation.
What to ask before opening the door
Read the visible status and ask support about anything unclear. A built system, a completed check and a proven support response are three different pieces of evidence.
Vetting cannot remove every risk. Protected access details, clear booking records and an honest escalation process matter alongside screening. See the current mechanisms and their limitations at https://xoot.co.za/trust-centre.
Quick answers
Does vetted mean a visit is risk-free?
No. Specific checks reduce uncertainty but do not guarantee future conduct. Ask for the checks and their status rather than relying on the word alone.
Has Xoot completed its screening pipeline for Xooters?
The current published status is that the pipeline and queues are built and no Xooter has completed the pipeline yet. Check the Trust Centre for the latest status.
